Burtonsville tax incentives

Over the past few years, the county and state have enacted the following tax incentives to promote redevelopment in Burtonsville…

  • 2013 – County tax credits for real property (taxes on buildings and land).
  • 2013 – County tax credits for personal property (movable assets, such as office furniture or kitchen appliances, or medical equipment).
  • 2015 – County exemption from impact taxes.
  • 2017 – State tax credits for real property.
  • 2017 – WSSC development charge waiver.
  • 2017 – Income tax credits for new employees.

A short explanation of the tax incentives is presented in the slides below.

Interested tenants and property developers can find more information about the county tax credits in the flyer below developed by the Montgomery County Department of Finance.

There was a great energy in the room during the first meeting. There weren’t enough seats – which tells us this is a topic people are passionate about. We have engagement, great ideas, and now an organized plan to take action.

Based on the success of the first meeting, are there plans for a second one on the radar yet? Or are you going to gather ideas from the site and social media in preparation?
